Building Confidence, Purpose, and a Brighter Future.
Guiding young men to independence through mentorship, life skills, and meaningful growth.
Transitional Living for Young Men Ready to Move Forward.
Black Pines is a small, mentorship-driven transitional living program in Salt Lake City for young men ages 18–25. Through daily structure, real-world responsibilities, and meaningful relationships, we help our guys build the skills and confidence required for independent adulthood.
The Problem:
When a Young Man Is Capable, but Stuck
The transition into adulthood does not always happen naturally.
A young man may be intelligent, talented, and full of potential while still struggling to establish routines, follow through on responsibilities, find direction, or take meaningful steps toward independence.
Families often find themselves caught between offering support and unintentionally preventing growth. Traditional treatment may feel unnecessary, but living at home without enough structure is no longer helping.
Black Pines provides a practical next step: a supportive residential environment where young men can practice adulthood while receiving consistent mentorship, accountability, and guidance.
The Black Pines Model
Real Life Is the Classroom
Black Pines is not built around lectures or isolated appointments. Growth happens through real experiences: preparing for work, planning a week, cooking a meal, managing money, resolving conflict, serving the community, and following through on commitments.
Our mentors participate in everyday life alongside the young men in our program. This allows coaching to happen naturally, in the moments when guidance matters most.
STRUCTURE
Participants establish healthy routines, clear expectations, and productive uses of their time.
PRACTICE
Young men develop practical skills through employment, education, household responsibilities, community involvement, and hands-on mentoring.
INDEPENDENCE
As consistency and confidence grow, participants take ownership of their schedules, decisions, responsibilities, and next steps.
